Campaign Update

A celebratory atmosphere has surrounded Campaign UW in recent months because your generosity has allowed us to move past the $2 billion mark sooner than anticipated — and to set our sights even higher. Thanks to you we have made enormous strides on behalf of our students, faculty and programs. We have established substantial sources of permanent support to continue to create better futures for the University community and beyond. And we have added some new structures to our campus landscapes to help us better serve our academic and research enterprises.

But with these improvements come new opportunities and new responsibilities. As the UW claims its place among the world’s great universities, we must continue to ensure that the UW remains affordable and accessible to all qualified students and that our faculty and staff have the resources they need to do their best work. To that end, the remaining months of the Campaign and the increase in the final goal will give us opportunities to create additional scholarships and fellowships, faculty support funds and program enhancements.
You will read in this issue about some of the many ways our friends and alumni have chosen to support Campaign UW.

As we head into the final months of Campaign UW, I am grateful to all of you who have given your dollars and your time to this effort. The impact of your gifts is apparent and will continue to create better futures in the years to come. Thank you.
