Promoting Academic Excellence

UW faculty help create better futures for students by preparing them to become tomorrow's leaders. They also work on advanced research to help solve some of the most challenging problems that society faces. Contributions to Campaign UW have helped support, recruit and retain a number of UW faculty.

Dr. Teri Brentnall, Associate professor, Division of Gastroenterology

Laura Chrisman, Nancy K. Ketcham Professor of English
Funding from the Nancy K. Ketcham chair helped the College of Arts and Sciences recruit English professor Laura Chrisman, the first Nancy K. Ketcham Endowed Professor. Carolyn West, Bartley Dobb Professor for the Study and Prevention of Violence
The Bartley Dobb Professorship for the Study and Prevention of Violence supports the important work of UW Tacoma's Carolyn West, an associate professor of psychology, who studies interpersonal violence and sexual assault, with a special focus on violence in the lives of African-American women.
