Building Campus Facilities for a World-Class Education

Your support touches nearly every corner of our three campuses, providing exceptional environments for learning and teaching, research and discovery, culture and the arts, athletics, and other activities that define a well rounded university experience. Gifts made during Campaign UW have created and are supporting a number of new and newly renovated spaces.

William H. Gates Hall
William H. Gates Hall, named in honor of the Campaign UW Chair, provides a technologically advanced space for UW law students. The building increased the size of the School of Law's space by a third, and made it possible for faculty, staff and students to gather under one roof for the first time in 20 years. Gates Hall also propelled the School of Law into the 21st century, giving students access to wireless Internet connections and smart podiums, with built-in screens and projector equipment. Conibear Shellhouse
The completely renovated Conibear Shellhouse now includes an academic services center and expansive dining room available not only to the University of Washington's crew teams, but all UW student-athletes. The Conibear Shellhouse, named in honor of former Husky rowing coach Hiram Conibear, was built in 1949 and at one time was used as a dormitory. Today, it is home to the UW's world-class crew program and is the center of academic life for student-athletes. The renovation was made possible by gifts from more than 220 donors to the Campaign for the Student Athlete. Support Athletics
