Help students fulfill their dreams. Make a gift online to the Students First Matching Challenge Fund. The Students First matching initiative provides need-based scholarships or fellowships for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on any of the three UW campuses. Through June 30, 2008, the University will match at 50 percent any qualifying gift to a Students First fund. Learn more about Brandon Roy, spokesperson for Students First When you help to create a student's future, Students First is the University of Washington's endowed student scholarship matching initiative that will provide need-based scholarships or fellowships for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on any of the three UW campuses. The scholarships created through Students First will help fund the UW's Husky Promise--a guarantee of full payment of tuition and fees for students from the state of Washington who come from lower-income families. Gifts to an endowed Students First fund may be eligible for a 50 percent match from the university. Endowed scholarship or fellowship funds for Students First may be created by an individual or by a consortium of people or organizations. Your gifts of every size can make a difference Individuals wishing to contribute to Students First, but unable to create their own named fund, can direct their contribution to the Students First Matching Challenge Fund, a consortium fund where gifts to Students First are pooled together. If you contribute to the Challenge Fund, the University guarantees to match your gift at 50 percent. Create your own Students First endowed fund Individuals or like-minded groups can also create their own Students First endowed scholarship or fellowship fund with a single or combined gift of $100,000 (minimum) named in honor of the donor(s) or someone they wish to honor. If you would like more information on creating a Students First endowed fund, please contact George Zeno, (206) 685-4445. |
