The College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences prides itself on providing the best academic environment and hands-on research opportunities for its students. The College's many accomplishments include creating and maintaining programs that benefit students in the following ways:

  • Ensuring educational opportunities by awarding scholarships and fellowships to deserving students, who then have the freedom to reach greater heights of scholastic achievement.
  • Investment in top-notch faculty to inspire students to academic excellence and the pursuit of innovative research.
  • Offering a multitude of experiential learning and field research through local, national, and international projects, as well as access to major research vessels and field sites.
  • Preparing new generations of educators, scientists, and policy makers to understand the world's oceans through interdisciplinary coursework encompassing Aquatic and Fishery Sciences, Oceanography, and Marine Affairs.

The College's state-of-the-art teaching, ocean-going vessels, and fully equipped laboratories offer unique and meaningful courses of study for both graduate and undergraduate students. The College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences is committed to inspiring its graduates to lead the world in ocean and coastal studies, influence marine policy, and positively impact the world through sustainable commerce.

At the College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences our love of the ocean is just part of who we are. We have the love of learning, to learn about the ocean's complex processes, how human activity affects the ocean and how the oceans affect our environment and enhance our quality of life.

Just know that the College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences is engaged in giving a world class experience to every single student. Private support like yours will help make the doors of knowledge swing wide open allowing opportunities to flow. This changes lives forever, as our students attest:

"Financing college has always been a worry. Your generous scholarship enabled me to focus on issues theoretically more import that money. Thank you so much for rewarding my scholastic effort, and for understanding my need. I am ever humbled by your generosity."
Morgan Sternberg

"Receiving my scholarship has allowed me to focus on my senior undergraduate school year in my studies in marine geology and ocean chemistry. This scholarship motivated me to take leadership positions during the unique undergraduate research cruise and has inspired me to continue my research after graduation. Such recognition and honor in the form of a scholarship is a great motivator, and has given me the confidence and experience to continue on with my academic research in graduate school."
Jennifer Glass

"Without the scholarship that funded my internship opportunity, I would not have gained the valuable skills and knowledge that have led to my graduate career."
