Private contributions play a special role in UW Tacoma's continuing development. Whether providing scholarships for deserving students, enhancing instruction, or improving facilities and equipment, private contributions create a margin of excellence that state support alone cannot provide.

Gifts to the Tacoma Excellence Fund allow the Chancellor to meet emerging needs and opportunities as they arise. Gifts to the Freshman Scholarship Fund provide financial assistance to students entering UW Tacoma from high school. Gifts to the General Scholarship Fund provide assistance to upper-division students transferring to UW Tacoma from community colleges and to graduate students.

The UW Tacoma Chancellor's Club honors those who give annually at the $1,000 level or more. Donors who belong to the Chancellor's Club receive special recognition and have unique opportunities to be involved with the campus and each other. Chancellor's Club donors have the satisfaction of knowing that they helped to strengthen the campus and provide a first-rate education for students. Donors who give annually $2,000 or more are invited to join the University of Washington President's Club.
