About UW School of Medicine

The School of Medicine is a regional resource for Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho-the WWAMI region-and an internationally recognized leader in medical education, patient care, and biomedical research. For the 15th consecutive year, the UW School of Medicine was ranked as the nation's top primary care medical school in U. S. News and World Report's annual survey of graduate and professional schools (April 2008) and ranked number eleven among medical schools.

UW Medicine-which includes the UW School of Medicine, UW Medical Center, and Harborview Medical Center-is committed to improving the health of the public by advancing medical knowledge, providing outstanding primary and specialty medical care to citizens of the region, and preparing tomorrow's physicians, scientists, and other health professionals. Each segment of UW Medicine has a unique mission and needs.
