The Tyee Program
Tyee is a word in the Chinook dialect that means "leader" or anything of high quality. At the University of Washington, Tyees are those who, through their generosity and their commitment, provide support and leadership for the self-sustaining Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The University of Washington’s Tyee Program was established in 1976 to create greater interest in and financial support for Washington’s athletic program. Members of Tyee make possible athletic scholarships for more than 700 student-athletes representing the entire 23-sport program.

All contributors to the athletic program are considered Tyees. There are a number of ways alumni and friends can give to the huskies, including:
