Seat-Related Gifts The most common form of giving to the huskies has been through seat-related gifts. Tyee contributions for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball total more than $10 million annually. Seat-related gifts through the Tyee program have been the lifeblood of Husky Athletics. What is a seat-related giving program? Washington’s seat-related giving programs require a donation, in addition to the purchase of season tickets, for premium seats in Husky Stadium and Hec Edmundson Pavilion. Which sport teams offer seat-related giving programs?
What are the giving levels for donor seats?
How are seats assigned? Donor seats in Husky Stadium and Hec Edmundson Pavilion are assigned based on the Tyee priority point system. What is the Tyee Priority Point System? All donors choose a giving level and receive a ranking based on their priority points within their giving level. Priority points are earned by contribution dollars, years of being a Tyee and years of consecutive season ticket purchase. Donors in the highest giving level are seated first in priority order. This process is repeated for each giving level in decreasing order. How are points assigned? One point for every $100 of historical contribution to the athletic department; One quarter point for every $100 of campus - wide giving to the University if you are a member of the President’s Club (donors of $2,000 and up annually to the University are considered President’s Club); Two points for each year of Tyee membership; Five points for each consecutive year of season ticket purchase for the sport in question. How are points calculated?
Tyee accounts are ranked according to priority point totals and seats are assigned by ranking. Can I have the same seats year after year? No. Tyee seats in Husky Stadium and Hec Edmundson Pavilion are completely reallocated every three years. There is no guarantee that you will remain in your previous seats during reallocation years. Can I transfer my priority to anyone else? Donor accounts can be transferred to immediate family members only. However, only 50% of the priority points can be transfer. Account transfers require a written letter of approval from the individual or company wishing to transfer the account. Are seat-related gifts tax deductible? Annual per seat contributions are 80% tax deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes, according to section 170(m) of the Internal Revenue Code. Non-seat related gifts, in support of the athletic department, are fully deductible as permitted by law. How can I get donor seats?
