Water holds great value. It is essential for human health, economic growth, and the survival of salmon and natural systems. As global climate change predicts reduced supplies, and as agriculture, cities, tribes, and salmon restoration efforts all demand increased access to water, how will we meet these challenges? A moderated panel of UW and other experts addressed this question: William K. Reilly, Founding Partner, Aqua International Partners (former Administrator, U.S. EPA); Peter Gleick, President, Pacific Institute; Jay Manning, Director, Washington Department of Ecology; Jerry Cormick, Principal, CSE Group and Senior Lecturer, Evans School of Public Affairs; Anne Steinemann, Director, UW Water Center, and Geoffrey Dabelko (panel moderator), Director, Environmental Change and Security Program, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Co-sponsored by the WSU-UW Policy Consensus Center at the Evans School of Public Affairs, The UW Water Center, and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Washington, D.C.
